Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the omnipresent patterns of life. To me, everything in life offers a pattern whether philosophical or physical. The undulating layers and abstract shapes invite the mind to consider unknown forms, yet still allow the viewer to recognise the intrinsic patterns and shapes interwoven through our lives. Albeit our thought patterns, the repetition of daily routine, the pulsations of the nervous system, the circulatory system, bacterial forms or the seemingly mechanical lives of a cell these are some nuances that may be deduced when one contemplates my artwork.I am perpetually concerned with spatial phenomenology and our uniquely human experience of inhabited spaces. Whether we look at intimate spaces such as the home or vast expanses as the desert, the ocean or the unbounded immensity of the solar system as we know it, we experience spatial awareness by relating it to ourselves.

I continually employ notions of the microcosm and the macrocosm in life through my work. I tend to oscillate between large works (my paintings) and tiny works (my jewelry), thus I am constantly considering the implications of space and the vastness of scale.

In both the Intimate Immensity series and The Myriad Void series I have explored the qualities of interior and exterior spaces and the relationships created between forms by composition. I have created miniature architectues in which both the wearer and viewer may enter contemplatively and thus momentarily reside within. These pieces are not about the glorification of stones like most jewelry, but about the utility of space.

Ring Sizing Chart

What Ring Size Are You?

My rings are listed using the US/Canada system.Use this chart to help you decide which size you would like your ring. The measurements in both inches and millimetres are for the inside circumference of the ring. It is easiest to get a ring you have already, grab a tape measure and measure the inside circumference. Alternatively, you may measure the circumference of your finger and go from there. Be sure to account for the cirumference of the nuckle, as most of the time the nuckle will be larger than the base of your finger.Remember that our fingers swell a bit in the summertime and shrink in the winter, so keep this in mind when deciding which size you need. I offer complimentary sizing of my rings. If you see a ring you like but it isn't your size, contact me and I will gladly size it to fit you perfectly before shipping it to you. You must commit to purchase before I size it. If you receive one of my rings and you need it sized, I will size it provided you ship it back to me and pay for the return shipping.
